“Following her successful 2025 exhibition, Sarah Money is delighted to return to the Star Brewery to present a new body of work encompassing both painting and sculpture, created over the past year.
Money’s sculptures are imbued with rhythm and movement, evoking emotion through gesture and body language. Her use of colour reflects a fascination with the aesthetics of antiquity, creating surfaces that feel weathered and timeless, as though the figures have been unearthed or submerged underwater for centuries.
Her paintings possess an equally physical presence. Working with a palette knife and her fingers, Money builds dense layers of paint, repeatedly scraping back and reapplying pigment. This process results in an energetic, vivid impasto that captures movement and sensation. The approach is entirely intuitive. These are not literal still-life flowers, but what Money describes as “the idea of a flower,” conjured from memory and imagination.”
